The Pamplin Depot dates back to 1924 and was restored in 2004 with a Transportation Enhancement Grant. The Depot currently houses the town offices, a conference room, Community Room and Art Gallery. An adult and children’s Little Free Library were installed in 2015. The former Freight Room is the site of a monthly barn dance by Farm Use String Band and part of the State Park’s Routes of Rhythm Trail. Community Yoga has been available weekly since November 2017. A local Art Show and Sale is held annually in November.

Historic Main Street offers a look at a life in the mid-1900s in small town America. The Pamplin Pipe Factory was at one time the largest manufacturer of clay pipes in North America. The old kiln remains and is under the aegis of the Archaeological Conservancy.

Pamplin is at the western end of the 31-mile High Bridge Trail State Park and is a great jumping-off point for visitors from the western end of the state. Footraces and bicycling events are increasingly popular on this level rail-to-trail.

Many fine artists live in the Pamplin area. Examples of their work are on display in the town office.
