Kelly Mattox Fine Art

I have always wanted to express myself in drawing or painting since my early childhood. I was encouraged and nurtured by my parents with private lessons and a very stimulating high school teacher. I received my BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University with a major in Commercial Art and a minor in Art History, Also, I have lived, studied and traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia and Mexico, The love of nature and my explorations in the outdoors is my inspiration.

“Some people write what they see and feel but I always wanted to interpret the world around me through my art. This is my visual journal through life.”

My artwork is an extension of my personality. My representational to abstract paintings have a common bond; lots of visual movement and energy, an exuberant high color palette, and the initial “WOW” impact you receive in viewing them. The manipulation and harmony of these components is what inspires me to accomplish in my final piece every time I enter my studio. My continuous pursuit to explore, challenge and develop my personal artistic voice through my historical landmark series, beautiful Virginia landscapes and my analytical bold abstracts.

Please visit my website: to view my art gallery and the print collection for sale of my original paintings of Lynchburg, Virginia landmarks. Prints available: Texas Inn Chili, Monument Terrace, Peaks of Otter, Randolph College, and UVA to name a few. A great gift for yourself or love one.

My work has enhanced numerous corporations, medical offices, banks, museums, and private collections.

Please call to make an appointment to visit my home studio in a 100+ year old Arts & Craft bungalow in the city of Lynchburg. Commission work is always welcomed. My prices are based on the size of the canvas. I enjoy creating that special painting to enrich your life.

I am looking forward to meeting you and sharing my passion to paint.

Thank you.
