Welcoming guests into my home and studio - an 111 year old, former school house - at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains for an immersive experience in my life-long love affair with painting.

Painting excites me. It’s sensual, challenging and, more than anything, offers me a way to bring to life feelings of exploration and wonder I first experienced as a child exploring wild places in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. My father was a painter who loved wild places and who showed me a world of raw beauty full of forms, colors and life. I fell in love with that and have never gotten over it. Those two worlds - the world of art and the world of nature - have enthralled me with a child-like wonder ever since. Part of me is still nine years old. When I engage in those worlds, feelings of timeless discovery and creation make for a fulfilling experience I enjoy sharing with others. It’s life giving.

The most elusive part of the work is and has been defining my vision beyond the ordinary while at the same time maintaining a personal/universal connection. I keep exploring and the exploration keeps expanding further and further.

My work - oils, watercolors and graphite drawings of wildlife, sporting art, fly-fishing, landscapes, portraits and still life - is shown through galleries, jury shows, one-man shows,
magazines, and on-line.

Thank you.
