Discover the Simple Beauty of a Small, Hard Working, Medicinal Herb & Egg Farm… Herbs, Chickens, Ducks, Special Events and More! Exciting Plans…Check in often and WATCH US AS WE GROW!

Established in 1997, we are an off-grid capable, Solar Medicinal Herb Farm, located in beautiful Mathews County, VA. Practicing all natural methods, we strive to be as self sustaining as possible. Only 5 acres…we are an example of how big things can be done by Senior Homesteaders in a small, eco-friendly way. We are out to prove that you don’t have to be a Young’un to live life healthy & happy!

We are proud to be featured on the Middle Peninsula Artisan, River to Bay Trail. To visit and tour the Farm is free, although we do encourage a donation of food or $ for the local Humane Society! We drop off to them weekly. Enjoy our “Yellow Barn Store”. Our Farm is open to the public, all year, most Th-Fr-Sat 10:30am-6pm. Be sure to check the website before visiting for any schedule changes! Visit on a Saturday beginning in February and lasting all winter to enjoy a Tea Tasting by the Bonfire! We can have tea and talk herbs!

“Life Close to Nature” Herbal Course- Take this 7 class course and acquire the skills of a new herbalist! Details listed on the website, see the Herbal Course Page https://www.cajfarm.com/

Community Drum Circles & Off-Grid Open “no- Mic” Nights- all dates & details listed on the website, Feel the Heartbeat of Nature as we Drum & Sing to the Moon & the Stars!

The Dragonfly Community Prayer & Meditation Labyrinth- available when the farm is open, for the public to visit and use, free of charge. More details on the website. From us to you! Enjoy!

The Yellow Barn Store: Chicken & Duck Eggs; Specialty Veggies; Frontier Co-op Products; Cut Flowers; Elderberry Products; Culinary & Medicinal Herbs and more! We only sell the products we use!

Our Two Annual Farm Events, listed below: both benefit the Gloucester Mathews Humane Society, details will be “sprouting” on the Special Events Page of the Website soon! “Autumn’s Song” an Herb Farm & Acoustic Music Festival, Oct. 12th, 2019 and “Christmas Drums” Dec. 14th, 2019, right after the Mathews Christmas Parade. A Holiday Drum Circle around the bonfire, drumming to the Classic Holiday Tunes! Includes other seasonal activities and healthy refreshments! Simply Wonderful! Be sure to put both of these events on your 2019 calendar!

We want to share our Farm with YOU and hope you will enjoy our simple spot on the planet, finding it a natural place to relax and discover. We have picnic tables scattered around, so bring your lunch if you wish. We provide a well maintained Portapot with a hand washing station on the farm for your convenience. Do practice safety while visiting us and keep an eye on your children. Smoking allowed at the Red Bench only, no alchohol allowed. Pets allowed on leash. Check out the website for full details. Please, excuse a few weeds…and there are always a few projects in the works! Hey…feel like helping…extra hands welcome! We are not a Botanical Garden, but a working farm. We invite you to visit and experience a little bit of…“Life Close to Nature”.
